Fun with Dick and Jane
I have to say I was kinda disappointed with this movie. Even though it was written by Judd Apatow (creator of Freaks and Geeks and Undeclared. I think my biggest beef with this movie was all the sexual innuendos and other content specific things that just constantly pushed the envelope for its PG-13 rating. I say why not give it the R and just go all out? To clarify, I see this as something kids are going to go to. Kids can go to PG-13 movies but not R rated movies. Kids aren't going to understand everything being said and then will start repeating some of the lines they heard because people laugh and think they're funny. I, personally, would rather it just be bad enough for the R rating.
Other than the content the movie just seems slow and dragging. Sometimes you sit through a 3 hour movie and feel like you've only lost 45 min of your life to this masterpiece. Unfortunately this movie was only 90 min but I felt like it was 2 and a half hours long. At many times I just felt bored and tired of being where I was.
I'd have to say this wasn't one of Jim Carrey's or Téa Leoni's best roles. However, it was interesting to see Alec Baldwin in a second 2005 role where he's the not-so-savvy-boss of a big company that screws somebody over.
